MY VERY FIRST MAGAZINE

Thank You Bojs?! It's not even correct haha xD

I have a hobby of expressing myself not through selfies, but words. It’s grown strongly since I was really small, maybe 7 if I remember well. So when I was 7, my mother bought me a book called: “The Grim’s old tales”, which cost a lot of money at that time due to its hard cover and color-printed pages. I loved the book so much. I read it day and night, even to my dog if she wanted to listen.

Grimms taught me two things. First, not all of the fairy tales belonged to Andersen, some of them were Grimm’s. Second, the best stories didn't have to be complicated. In fact, they should be simple in both content and grammar. So with my knowledge in literature, I started to write my first novel when I was in primary school. It wasn’t fancy. Just a girl who was exactly like me living in a castle in a magical land.

The novel started with the scene of the autumn wind blowing down the chimney, warning the princess (it’s me) that the witches were coming with their bats. The princess noticed the sign but she refused to react. She was sitting quietly in her armchair, thinking about stuffs. The first chapter ended here. I’m not sure whether it’s supposed to be like this in an artistic way, or I simply didn’t finish this chapter. Even I don’t get it. Jamie-12-years-ago (wow, that’s a lot) obviously was different from now.

I didn’t pay enough attention to the novel. But then, I got into drawing. This time, I made my first magazine, complete and colorful. It was written and drawn by me, and was handed to many people in my school. They loved it. Especially the comic pages. I didn’t name the magazine, though. If I could come up with a name right now, it’d be “Jamie-chan”.

The magazine featured my fashion collection, puzzle games, funny stories and educational quizzes. Even though I still find it hard to read through everything I wrote, I’m very proud of myself. I didn’t give up because my first novel sucked. I learned what my readers wanted, which was more pictures, so I drew them. I knew it was not bad as I saw my classmates sneaking in class to read it. So yeah, editor-in-chief right over here.
