It’s one of the most esteemed competitions for young journalists, writers or anyone who loves to write any where in the world.
I hadn’t known about it until February, during Tet Holiday, while I was searching the Internet for a writing competition. And the result hit me like the white Range Rover on the street the week before. The only difference is Vogue didn’t cut my chin and caused me scratches all over.
As you can see, writers were required to complete all 3
sections. The first one was an interview. I was lucky to finish it with the
help from one of the two designers from Rue des Chats. As I adored and respected
the brand so much, the words had already flown in my mind before we even sat
down.
For the second section, I wrote about minimalism in Asia (I preferred
“oriental side”). And my 3 ideas for Vogue’s articles were about young talents’
guidance, John Galliano and Vogue’s editors’ hobbies outside work. I wished I’d
used my first idea, which was Anna’s assistant’s schedule during fashion
week.
The result will come out in this Fall issue. Top 10 will be
invited for lunch with the editors and the winner will get a chance to intern
at Vogue HQ. I can’t say enough how sincerely I want this. But I’m sure many
people out there want the same thing, too. So all I’m going to do is to work
harder and keep finding my way towards my goals.
Nothing but the best of luck to you kid <3
