PRET-A-PORTEA FT. DOOMS DAY

Last Saturday, WEPHOBIA presented their Summer 2015 collection and Mini Series at Intercontinental Hotel. It was an exclusive fashion show with Chula during tea time, which is called by a really nice name: “Pret-a-portea”. At 2 p.m, we arrived at the hotel. Each was holding one or two bags of clothes. The manager walked us through the hall to a room on the first floor. Turned out, all models and makeup artists gathered there to prepare for the show. Quickly unwrapped everything, we got straight to our work.

Our two designers were in charge of the runway order, the studio manager and the assistant hung all the clothes and did some check-ups. I set my camera right and game on! Behind the scenes started here. Besides seeing several familiar faces, like Kate and Thuy Anh, I also saw the hotel’s swimming pool. It was so attractive and distracting, especially when they put a fringe of ice cream near the pool, who does that?! So uncool : ( But seriously, the swimming pool was in front of our room’s backdoor, it’d be hard not to notice the scene of pleasure : (

After a while of ‘clicking’, I gave myself a shot of what I was wearing. Haha, I couldn’t help it. As usual, I wore black: WEPHOBIA Short Tuxedo Shirt, Infamous Palazzo and ankle boots, of course. I’m terrified of open-toed shoes. Since I started wearing black, I’ve paid less attention to accessories. It’s not that I’m lazy. I just simply don’t care about it anymore. As long as I wear black, the world is cool to me.

Half an hour later, Laura from Chula and her daughter walked in. And we knew the show was about to start. Getting our comp card and runway order done, we helped the models change. “Say your name!”, “Bra-on or bra-off?”, “Can I see your black shoes?”. Those are very common at any backstage you find. It’s fun, trust me (Y). It’s magic.

Nineteen looks from WEPHOBIA were presented throughout the show and we received lots of positive comments from the guests. I took some more photos of the tea sets while the designers socialized. Damn, I really like to socialize. Talking to new people, listening to their stories and introducing myself are so cool. When I have my own magazine, socializing will be my jam. Heading back to the hotel room, all the clothes were already wrapped and everyone of our team was taking a quick rest. I went on shooting and thinking about the swimming pool, the cakes and the ice cream. Ending the day like that would be so nice. But heck no. We had to go back to the store and the studio to prepare for the next day.

Before getting in the cab, I noticed the signs of a storm, which later turned out to be a destructive and dangerous one that we all didn’t know. Leaving Intercontinental Hotel and on the way to Au Co street, a giant group of dark grey clouds was on top of us and the wind began to blow stronger. It looked like dooms day. When we got to West Lake, it started to rain. The rain got much worse when we passed Dien Bien Phu street and this time, we barely saw anything. The driver went really slowly. People on motorcycles couldn’t keep their balance. Some trees fell on the street and a tree’s branch hit our cab. Oh you guys have no idea! T.T

We dropped everything at the store, which was black out : | and all customers were inside. The scene looked like the zoo full of animals. After that, we headed to the studio. On Kham Thien street, we saw a quite big tree already fell and a motorcycle lying beneath. A taxi sign was swept by the tree and traffic jam occurred. Thank God we made it safe and sound.

But damn! T.T It wasn’t easy and smooth at all. The electricity was cut and we couldn’t open the door. We stood outside like animals. After a few minutes, we decided to have brunch at a nearby food stall. It wasn’t fancy, just a normal house that offered us food. Our designer (chi Ma Nguyen), manager (chi Quynh) and assistant (Yen, same age as mine) had ‘che do den’ (black peas dessert soup/pudding/super dense juice?? Idk =). And I had lots of ‘banh bot loc’ (dumplings with grinded pork and shrimp) and ice tea. Pardon my translation. After that, we had dumplings with vegetables and sea food (created by the cook) and I had an extra dessert made of yogurt and ice.

When the storm stopped, some kids were yelling “Here comes the rainbow!”. But we still waited for the electricity like animals. At 6.45 p.m, chi Ma Nguyen showed me and Yen a hit of Dan Truong singer. Lolz, we were seriously hopeless and bored. The MV was so awesome, honestly. It looked like Chinese movie with a mermaid. And Dan Truong was handsome, just saying. At 7 p.m, that’s it, we had to do something. We called for help from a website we googled. At 7.30 p.m, they arrived. 15 minutes later, the door opened. We were saved.

I quickly ran to the third floor to grab my laptop, which scared the sh*t out of me coz I just saw Insidious 3 : ( We got on our bikes and said goodbye to each other. On the way home, a ray of lightning sparked in the sky. It was really long and bright, and the whole street was black out. I hated that scene so much. Not many people have more talents or super power after being stroke by lightning. At 8 p.m, I got home and rushed to shower. After that, I worked with the Behind The Scenes photos until 1 a.m. Then I slept like I had never slept before. Phew! What a day! What a team we have. Awesome adventure I shall call.

Thanks a lot guys for reading all of this. Enjoy my recent favorite MV:
