I received questions on my Tumblr. Good day. Also, I'm watching The Atticus Institute, quite like a retro freak show documentary. The only exorcism case that was recognized by the government of The United States. I only caught 15 minutes of it, will hunt it down later. Meanwhile.

TADIOTO AGAIN.

![]() |
| Ảnh này khá hay. Tôi vẫn hay đi dạo và đạp xe qua ngã tư Casa Italia và Metropole. |
![]() |
| Mỗi lần ngước lên nóc nhà Metropole tôi lại tự hỏi bây giờ là 4 giờ sáng hay 8 giờ tối. |

| Tác phẩm sắp đặt trong khuôn khổ của Into the Thin Air. |

I'M ACCEPTED.
I'm accepted to LASALLE and offered a 60% tuition cover by the government of Singapore. All I have to deal with is $9.300 left and two other scholarships to apply. If I succeed, I won't have to worry about the tuition fee and living cost. When I read the offer letter, I felt supremely happy. It happened the moment I expected the least: I just finished my dumplings and soymilk for breakfast. Though the full scholarship program can't happen this year, I believe I can manage to afford to study in Singapore. I want to do this myself so I can come to my father and tell him this very good news as a gift, nothing else but a gift. After all these years of taking care of me, fixing my problems, getting disappointment from my past rebellous life, he deserves peacefulness. I failed the chance when my mother was still alive. I remember in her sick bed, she looked at me sadly and said she regretted letting me go to work too soon. She wondered how I could be by myself without a mother and how much a job could change the person I was, from a cheerful child to a constantly worried young adult. The time has finally arrived. I will fight for the last scholarships and make this my first big accomplishment. I've longed for my father's happy tears and his warm hug for so long. Everything I'm doing is for my parents. I hope if my mother can see me now, she'll be proud of who I've become. I'm still crying, partially happy and partially afraid of losing it for money. My shirt is soaking wet of my rheum. But I will be fine because I have a supportive family by my side, a gift in making clothes and this foolishly strong belief. There's nothing can stop me now. I'll make sure of it.

SUMMER IS COMING AND I'M AFRAID.
I'm looking out of the window and I'm thinking "Holysh*t, summer is coming." That 40-degree feeling is approaching, promising a season of sweat and patchy tan. What an unfriendly season for layering and makeup. Last night, I burned my index finger a little by putting the pot lid up while it was still boiling. The thing is, I love my pale skin and I don't want to change it into a darker tone. Tan doesn't match anything of mine. And what am I doing? I'm bumbling about such little things.
Anyway. I always make sure I feel happy, positive and ready for life. I seek for opportunities and randomness with the same attitude, unchanged confidence. But I'll be honest with you this time, journal, I'm scared. I'm scared of the fact that I still don't know what will happen in July. I either will catch a flight to study abroad or just for another vacation. Please, let me have what I want. I know I deserve this, I did my best. It's not about I have 70 more years to live. The chance right now is different from the same chance in the next decade. Timing is everything. I don't want another week off walking in the sand, watching people having fun at the beach. I feel so lonely being surrounded by them. I want to be all by myself in a new land with new people, learn how to make clothes, make good clothes and establish myself. There is no reason for me to be here anymore. If nothing happens in July, what will I do with my life? I don't like the way people work here. I don't make agreement with that circumstance so one day I'll turn into one of them. I refuse it.

THE DAY 'MIDNIGHT IN PARIS' WAS DEFEATED.
I'd been having this nervous feeling about my future in the next couple of months. Though I knew worrying about something unpredictable was worthless and I could miss the chance to enjoy the very moment, I still found reasons to overthink. That was why I reached out to my close friend, an engineering student, for help. He and I are extremely different, yet the same. I enjoyed talking logics with him and in return, he gave me movie suggestions. Actually, that means I received all. Most of his advices worked like a charm. I watched Chef already so The Princess Bride was my first go-to. It was hell of a corny movie, foolish and adorable, especially Westly. Then I skipped Ex Machina as I'm not a big fan of robotic movies, unless it's stupid, otherwise I'll choose to watch something else. Suddenly, I remember there was this movie I really wanted to watch but always missed the chance. Scent of A Woman. The scene of Al Pacino tangoing with a beautiful brunett woman haunted me, and the melody of Por Una Cabeza flew in my mind gracefully. After two hours and a half, Scent of A Woman became the most beautiful, meaningful movie I've ever watched. It even won over Midnight in Paris. I'm lost of words to describe any further and I can't wait to watch more of middle-age Al Pacino. I should mention Martin Brest is the director, but I didn't find his other movies interesting. Clearly, I judged the book by its cover. And clearly, I believe in my intuition as well.
I think I'll watch Scent of A Woman again.

YVES, HEDI AND SIMON.
People may come and go but my awkward talking skill will always remain the same. What is worse than silence is wrong noise, indeed. Filthy weather. This afternoon, I saw my father getting blushed when one of the kittens approached him. His sensitivity cracked through his cement skin "like a virgin touched for the very first time." The kitten was anything but conscious of his direction. As I whistled towards him, he turned around hesitatedly, then to the right and the left. For short, I gave him a signal from one of the four winds, and he chose to walk to the other threes. His young sense of hearing was very lovely. I want to get close to the kittens to find out which one suits me the most. I assume the one without any stripes, who almost got out of the bed by bending below the wooden bar instead of hopping over it like his brothers. I said almost because after going halfway, he decided to return to his bed. Very me, indeed. I want to name him Yves, pronounced as Eve without the "s". I want to keep him near, feed and protect him. The other two kittens are beautiful. All are golden and striped in the same color. They are louder and more active. I must say I enjoy playing with the fluffies so much that I forgot their mother was right next to me. She enjoyed my pampering, too, with a lot of caution I think. Miu Miu, her name is. If I'm allowed to keep the other two, I will name them Hedi and Simon. Together, we'll have a fashion empire in a humble, humid room.

I HAD SNACK THAT LOOKED LITERALLY LIKE SHIT.
People really change. Whoever denies has his brain made of shit. Everything must change in order to exist. These recent weeks have lasted longer than the wait for Game of Thrones. I hardly talk to my best friend now. We used to talk more often back then. Now, she gave me a message when she needs help contacting her family. I wonder if we are taking our friendship for granted.
As for the company I'm working for, I still feel warm being here. Regardless of the fact that people are spreading every where with other projects and plans, and the studio has become less crowded, I still feel ok to work here. I haven't established anything successful to step inside a different pair of shoes.
One of the old friends of mine, if we are even friends, turned into someone new last week. New position and new responsibilities. I am unable to start any conversations with him now for we have all changed. I am no longer the witty and sharp kid he used to talk to. And he no longer has the kind of sophistication I am fond of. I don't even remember how I felt, only fact. If you find someone who matches almost everything of yours at a certain time, in a funny way, will you appreciate their existence in your life?

CRIMSON SKY.
Tonight.
I looked outside of the window and saw beautiful blocks of shadows coated on grey houses. Crimson sky fell down in grace. The infinity of the night scares and excites me. It could swallow my tiny body and mind, or lift me up high enough to blend with the dark. I don't want to be aroused. I would close my eyes and let it be. I'd be one of the house coated with shadows. Or I'd be a crimson spot on the ground running through dirt, spreading widely in silence. How could the sky be so beautiful at night and yet so few people enjoy it?

IT MAKES SENSE IN THE END.
I'm sitting in my bed finishing this painting and I wonder if any of this makes sense. This bed is the same bed where I shed my endless tears for my dead mother. The place I felt the safest to be weak, have a self conversation, a self question, and a self wonder. This is the bed where I had the idea of suicide: "I can do it with the help of her pills." I could have taken the pills and slept forever. I remember feeling desperately brave to kill myself, without any hesitation or scare. The most meaningless two weeks of my life took away my willingness to live. Nothing made sense. I felt incredibly lonely. I felt it so unfair that I had to go through the loss of the person who loved me the most in this world while those strangers outside were laughing, holding hands and just be happy. "How could this happen to me?" My tears fell down my face uncontrollably. I had dinner in my room while crying for weeks. I thought maybe nothing would make sense anymore. No one would ever love me as much as she did. No one would ever accept my flaw and help me out. So that night, her pills were in my hands. Pills that supported heart diseases but would kill a healthy heart in minutes.
They sat in my hands quietly. I tried to find a reason not to swallow, but I found nothing. The pills were slowly melting with my sweat. Time was tiking. I turned my head to the side of the pills and was about to finish everything. But I turned enough to see the sarcasm of the night, the glimpse of the beige shirtdress I wore to hang out with my friend. How inelegant it was to be hung on my door. How cruel life was for my friend to lose her mother when she was in primary school. And suddenly that shirtdress made sense. Suddenly I didn't know if I was a coward or a total coward. All of the sudden, the pills in my hands became disgusting.
It's been two years since my mother died. Two years since I first had the sympathy for people who committed suicide. I want to say, I understand. My life has improved a lot. I have become a better person. The sadness I felt no longer is bad. It's a gift. I have never seen or talked to my mother since her death. Perhaps once in my dream. I wonder what she thinks of me now. I've been through enough to know death is no mercy or torture. Death is death. Death means done. Life goes on. People who live will receive.

MORPHINE OR COCAINE?
"Morphine or cocaine? Which is this today?
Holmes?"
_Sherlock Holmes. The Abominable Bride_
I woke up to the voice of myself calling me out for staying in the blur too long. I've been there. Morphine or cocaine? Morphine from my dying mother's bed or cocaine from the dying stranger who shamelessly sold it to an underage. It was illegal anyway. I get it now. "Let's make sense to each other." I see it now. The no-expectation claim was a lie. I had my own expectations and I flicked them off the coat like they were nothing. I shouldn't have had any. You were as hurting as a deer suffering from bullet shots. I saw your insecurities so clearly. It's not happiness that you must seek for. It's the thing that can fill the holes inside you. The deer in you once believed and sacrificed unconditionally got hurt severely with only bandaids to cover. You kept bleeding until all those wounds became big, black, empty holes. I was so blind not to admit my expectations and refuse your wounds, those that I could see the first time but too proud to face.
I get it now. Let's make sense to each other. I no longer have any expectations for you. This morning, I woke up to the feeling of relief. I'm finally myself again. This witty, certain, simple man inside of me has recovered. I breathe this fresh, cold air without minding one bit of any matters that ever happened. I wish my eyes could light up as brightly as my perception of "Let's make sense to each other." They would light up this whole short street without the help of electricity. You and I both know once we get too close, the holes will duplicate and expand. I don't want to get more of them, either. You were right. People need time to be alone. In a physical and mental way. Being by our own is the only one true reflection we should see. The rest can be deceiving and mimicking.
Without the waiting and longing, wanting and demanding, there's no ups and downs, no more anger and tantrums. Of course, Hemingway will curse you and I for being such cowards. Hemingway died. Probably very alone and lonely. We will all die that way anyway. Let's make sense to each other. And sense only. The puzzle is halfway solved.
